When taking a break, there are a few steps to follow.

Short break
Capture One saves automatically, you don’t have anything to do to save your work.
Stop where it will be easy to pick up (between two folders, boxes, etc). Mark down where you stopped and put away your objects.
Remove the target from the table and put it away from lights.
You can leave the lamps and the battery on.

Long break
Repeat previous steps (stop and put away your objects + target).
Take the battery of the camera out and put it to charge.
Turn off the lights if you’re taking an over 30min break.
You don’t have to close the software.

Starting up after a break
Turn the lamps on first and let them warm up.
Put the batteries back, the software should indicate the camera is on.
If the software doesn’t recognize the camera, see Troubleshooting.
Place your target under the camera and take a picture to check your focus and color values. If the color values and focus are equal to where you left them, you can resume imaging.

If there is a slight change in exposure and color value, wait for the lamps to warm up and take another picture. Make sure nothing moved (lamps, position of the camera, table).
If there is a significant change in exposure and color value, double check all your settings. Do not resume imaging until you have fixed the issue. It is very important to remain consistent throughout your imaging session in order to stay true to the artifact.
